Pop

I was lucky enough to see Prince this past weekend for my birthday. Seeing a living legend is not something that one takes lightly, so i did my duty and screamed my head off and danced with pleasure for his entire 4 hour show. He blew my mind. It was very likely the best live performance Ill ever have the luck to see, and frankly, I wouldn't want it any other way. Prince is my #1

Now I'm busy recollecting after a long party weekend to get ready for my december feature in Toronto shop Armed on Dundas! For the entire month of December the shop will be transformed into a Dolorous Pop -up shop and will be featuring a number of one of a kind pieces as well!

G that was fun!

Just got back from New York where I was visiting my sister for the launch party for her new custom blazer collaboration with Leandra of TheManRepeller. The blazer they came up with is amazingly fun, and adorably named the Mr. G Blazer after the incomparable character on Summer Heights High. The party was SO fun and the rest of the weekend was a whirl wind of art and fun family drunk time.
I love New York

This is how we do it

Well I won't speak for everyone, but this is how I do it. I've run myself completely ragged since September with no end in sight. In retail the holiday season starts pretty much in August, and in jewelry it continues through till Valentines Day. Then maybe I'll have a day or two off before I need to start producing and market the S/S collection. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, I wouldn't trade it for a thing in the world, but this picture pretty much sums it up. Including the fact that I somehow keep finding the time to go out and get a little silly on weekends. Lets be honest though, after a tough week at work dont we all want to throw on some sequins, kick up our heels, and wind down with some adult beverages?

Slave to Fashion

I'm a 90s kid, through and through. The soundtrack to my life is Nirvana (and speckled with the Reality Bites soundtrack and spice girls), there is no shoe styles I like better than chunky platforms and tomboy boots and Grunge has been my personal style since about the age 9

So it was really only a matter of time before this infiltrated my designs and surprise surprise its manifested int he form of two of my favourite 90s trends chokers and moody hues.
The Dolorous F/W 11 collection features several styles of chokers in leather and suede in several tones and a new design of Slave Bracelet which is adjustable and is made out of the most comfortable cotton cord in a variety of colors like Forest Green, Burgundy and a deep Blue Gray.
